iconyMug has received Red Dot Award 2020

Intenational design contest ‘Red Dot’ has started to annouce winners of Red Dot Award 2020. This year in the nomination ‘Product design 2020’ the award was received by the promotional product ‘iconyMug’ – thermo cup made in a form of classic faceted glass, which is exclusively distributed by SDI Gifts company from Czech Republic. The ‘Red Dot Award’ is the award for high design quality. The international jury only awards this sought-after seal of quality to products that feature an outstanding design There are over 18,000 entries yearly and ‘iconyMug’ earned the award among those thousands of entries. The idea of creating this thermo cup takes us back to 19^th century, when the first faceted glass was produced. This item has become a symbol of the epoch and is still associated with Iconic Russian Soviet Design.However, the designer updated the legendary design of the first faceted glass according to the ideas of sustainable living and urban lifestyle. “I always wanted to design such a thermo cup. Despite the fact that the external shape and properties remained classic, an interesting challenge was the implementation of the product in a completely different material and as a result: other molding principles, other technological requirements and difficulties, which, thanks to close collaboration with the factory, were achieved. That’s how this modern product with almost a century of history was designed”,said the creator of “iconyMug” Mikhail Chistiakov.
