The Supervisory Board of Faber-Castell AG has appointed Simon Hauser as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The 43-year-old will join the company on the 1st of September and will take over the position from Dr. Hans-Kurt von Werder (56), whose appointment to the board ends at the end of September 2021.

Gerhard Berssenbrügge, the Chairman of Supervisory Board at Faber-Castell AG, states: “We would like to thank Dr. von Werder for his trustworthy collaboration. Dr. von Werder has made a very valuable contribution to the development of the business and helped steer the company successfully through a challenging phase. Additionally, he was able to achieve significant increases in productivity and revenue in India, which established a good basis for future operations in this populous country. At the same time, we are delighted that we are able to appoint a manager to the position of CTO who has just as much international experience”.

After gaining experience in the automotive industry, Simon Hauser worked as a consultant for BSH Hausgeräte GmbH for 14 years and held several different management positions in Germany and abroad. In addition to positions in China, he also was employed as Managing Director and plant manager of the Russian production facility and was subsequently responsible for development, quality and technical product marketing as well as production for cooling systems in the regions of Turkey, Middle East, CIS and Africa. In his last position as Senior Vice President Head of Production Laundry, he was responsible for world-wide production and the global production network for the laundry product division.

Simon Hauser states, “I look forward to this exciting assignment. It is a great honour for me to be part of the Faber-Castell board and to further develop the company’s world-wide production facilities in a sustainable manner”.
